I posted this on Tumblr, but I thought I'd post it here too. Has anyone seen the Black Panther trailer? It features a prominent Martin Freeman voiceover to kick things off, and it inspired this: Interesting choice, Marvel INTERIOR: MARVEL HQ, MARKETING DEPARTMENT, sometime early in 2017 Marvel exec1: We’ve got some big new releases coming up – we need some really great trailers. Marvel exec2: We’re Marvel, don’t worry, we’ll put together some really great trailers Marvel exec1: I know I know. I just don’t want to take things for granted. We need something that will really grab people, right in the first few seconds. Marvel exec2: How about a really great voiceover? Marvel exec1: Been there, done that Marvel exec2: But what if…. we used a really really great actor with a compelling voice? Marvel exec1: Hmmm….maybe. Who do you have in mind? Marvel exec2: ? <looks down table to creatives from Black Panther and Thor: Ragnarok teams> Folks? Black Panther creative: What about that guy from Sherlock? Thor Ragnarok creative: What about that guy from Sherlock? Marvel exec2: Ooh, yes! I like it! Marvel exec1: Yes! But we’ll need him to do an American accent. It's been getting good reviews. I''ve only glanced at a few of them - and I have no idea what they're talking about!
The best part, for me, is seeing Benedict's cameo as Doctor Strange described as "delicious", "delightful", and "snarky".

I haven’t watched it but apparently he and Dr. Strange are mentioned here:

Here's a longer version of the interview. It's so funny that Doctor Strange is mentioned in almost every question, and then at around 3:56 Benedict's name cones up.

Ha, an interview from Asia where BC is so popular. "Did BC write these questions?" It opens next week; has anyone heard from early screenings, how many scenes BC has? It's 95% positive on Rottentomatoes with 98 critics reporting so far! This sounds promising, from the Evening Standard review (SPOILER!): Spacing down since I can't find the spoiler tags:

From what I read on twitter, BC's role is brief. For spoilers, write [ spoiler ] What you want to say goes here [ /spoiler ] without the spaces between the word spoiler and the brackets. I had to take the spoiler button because it didn't work. It is still on the quick reply if you use a laptop.

My daughter went to see it today (I'm down with flu, alas!). He is in just one scene: a cameo, like it was easy to guess, not really any importance for the plot and very short (more or less like Zoolandar, maybe a bit longer), but she says it is cute. She liked the film, especially Cate Blanchett, but in her opinion, it is more comedy and the characters are not behaving like in previous films.
