So we have a Debbie! Debbie is young Patrick’s longtime girlfriend. Things doesn’t work between them in great part because he is a lost case who likes hard drugs, has lovers and wants to seduce her best friend. After the relationship ends his reputation between their high class circle is completely tarnished. In the third book, he is known as the guy who tretead Debbie in an awful way. Her appearances in te books are mostly if not exclusively doing phone calls with Patrick

Tim McMullan was also in Parade’s End with BC! I remember he was funny: very snobbish but kind of dumb, too. He will play Sonny who is also a dumb and snobbish. He is so rich that the party in the third book in which Princess Margaret is a guess, is in his honor! He is the husband of Bridget (Holliday Grainger) but he is planning to “change” her for Margo Stilley’s character. I think he appears in just that book but still it’s a relevant character. Kevin Layne plays Shades. He is one of the few street drug dealers that appears in book 2 (probably episode one), Bad News.

Natalie Klamar is Becky. She is the woman Patrick/BC tells he is “a narcissist, schizoid suicidal alcoholic” in te trailer and the 20 years old girl he becomes infatuated at the Depression Wing. She should be a major character esp. because it seems they extended this part of the book. I’m talking of the last one, At Last, of course. www.theartistspartnership.co.uk/cv/natklacv.pdfThinking about it, Patrick is not exactly a playboy but he indeed has a lot of romantic interests: Bad News: the girlfriend Debbie, Marianne and the still not cast so who knows if they will be included lover from the UK, a drug addict who lived with him in America years ago (Natasha?) and the girl he meets at Mudd Club. Some Hope: There is one woman who wants to have sex with him at the party. I don’t remember the name! Mother’s Milk: Mary and Julia. At Last: Mary, Julia, Becky and he flirts with a younger waitress, too. Sadly any of this relationships work for him and most of time they aren’t even “consummated”

www.imdb.com/name/nm0228960/David Windfall is a character from Some Hope. If I remember well, he is the guy who has the “assignment” of take Sonny’s lover, Cindy to the party. His wife is sick and Cindy is not a guest so Sonny ask him to take her instead. He foolishly tries to seduce her! Actually Patrick also express interest in having sex with her but desists when he hears she is a super model and it’s out of his league although he is younger and much more handsome that the other two men! All of them are sexist pigs!

Victor is a very important character in Never Mind. He is Ann's husband and a respected philosopher. Although he is a very smart man he also has not very bright bullies as friends. Something that Ann not understand.
James Fleet was Hastings to BC's Richard III in The Hollow Crown.

We now know who play the three main couples in Never Mind: Jennifer Jason Leigh as Eleanor Melrose Hugo Weaving as David Melrose Pip Torrens as Nicholas Pratt Holliday Grainger as Bridget Watson-Scott Indira Varma as Anne Moore James Fleet as Victor Eisen Other characters are : A 5 years old Patrick Melrose Barry, played by Anthony Boyle. He is a Bridget’s friend who she and Nicholas “casually” meet at the airport. There are also two workers in the house, a man and a woman. She is called Yvette and probably played by French actress Chantal Neuwirth. We know she is in the series but it wasn’t announced her role so it’s just speculation. This episode should have a small cast all together in one house and I think Bad News should be an one man show with Benedict Cumberbatch playing Patrick taking all kind of drugs meanwhile briefly meets all kind of characters from street drug dealers and taxi drivers to the very posh friends of his parents. The next two episode/books have a great number of roles, tho. And we know the last one include the segment with Patrick placed in the suicide ward (which was a flashback in the book) so it seems it won’t be just about the reunion of “old” characters at Eleanor’s funeral Still, the major character we still don’t know who is playing it or if it’s included in the adaptation is Princess Margaret. I remember one cast member on Facebook mentioning all the famous actors who would be in it with him and he named Celia Imrie. He didn’t say the role but she would be perfect for it! Anyway we still don’t have an official confirmation about her actually being in it. Much less the role!
