So, La La Land is going to win the Oscar, I guess. I didn't watch all the nominees. I'm missing Jackie, Hell or High Water and Fences. I found La La Land a bit disappointing. I was expecting much more. Emma Stone was very good though, although I couldn't relate to her character. Her problems were too first world for me to care. The pictures I enjoyed the most were Lion and Manchester by the Sea. I didn't like Hacksaw Ridge. Arrival was good but I read the story before watching the movie and I liked the story much more. I liked Moonlight but I don't know if is better than LLL. Hidden Figures is good entertainment but I don't think I'll watch it twice. Go, Patel!

I can say I was really, really pleased that Dev Patel won something (although I still think he should have won it for Best Actor NOT Best Supporting Actor). And I was really pleased also to see that Lion (my personal fav picture of the noms) won for Adapted Screenplay. I really don't think Manchester by the Sea was good enough to win all the hardware it did (although I don't dislike the film as much as my friend Mllemass ). And I still haven't found the interest to watch La La Land so I can't really say anything about its wins. I wish DS would have won one of the categories it was up for. I wouldn't have given Hacksaw Ridge anything. :-))
