Wasn’t the DM the newspaper that reported he bought a very ugly mansion in California a few years ago? That was apparently fake. If he did then he clearly doesn’t use it but it didn’t stop columnists and commenters of claiming he didn’t lived in the UK (*Trump voice* FAKE!) so he shouldn’t had talked about local themes like Brexit or refugees.
Sophie’s mother lives on the island, as do several Seelys, including their kinsman Bob Seely, the Isle of Wight’s Tory MP.
I thought her mother lived in Edinburgh.
Also, when they bought their new home in London it was reported that they had also bought another one in IOW. I remember the article mentioned even prizes.
I apologize for jumping the gun on this. Sorry. I guess I was just excited about him maybe have a place in that locale. You are all correct - I shouldn't trust the DM. I'll delete the original post. Hopefully no problems?

I recognize that roof terrace and bathroom! We saw them when he did the Ice Bucket Challenge. It never occurred to me that it was filmed at his home. I must have watched that video several thousand times, so I remember it well! The article shows the exact spot where he removed his underwear as he went into that gorgeous bathroom.
On a startling note, he nominates Harvey Weinstein to take the challenge. Yikes!
I was startled to hear him nominate Weinstein, but when I thought about it, I thought “what a great thing to do to someone you can’t stand.” I know the challenge happened before tha scandal, but I can’t imagine that someone with Ben ‘s sensibilities could abide the crude and crass Weinstein.
I think often men like HW act differently around other men than they do women. So, Ben probably didn’t know. It is creepy, now, to watch, though, isn’t it? 🤮
