I once mentioned at work that I had never seen Home Alone, and the room went silent. So I explained that I thought it looked awful, and from the trailers and clips I had seen, I knew it wasn’t for me. Their reaction was ridiculous - some of my co-workers were genuinely hurt by my comments about their favourite Christmas movie! My cousin did the same thing last Christmas - he was in disbelief that not only had I never seen it, I didn’t even WANT to see it! His wife had to calm him down.
I get similar reactions when people find out that I’ve never seen Downton Abbey. I guess I seem like someone who would!

There’s a guy on a twitter who only has one leg, and a few years ago, he dressed up as that lamp from A Christmas Story! It was spot on, with the fishnet tights and everything. Hilarious!

I mean, there was nothing really wrong with the movie but EVERYONE ELSE thought is was something that should be beloved and to me it kind of just sat there and I didn't find it emotional at all. It was OK but really kind of "meh" to me.

Ha! I remember rolling my eyes at ET dying and coming back to life, even when seeing it as a kid. Though I did love the scenes of the kids hiding ET from their mom.

With people just now discovering this movie, some are occasionally posting their reviews. One review I read yesterday said that it wasn’t as terrible as other reviewers had said. She said that it wasn’t as good as the classic 1957 “black and white” cartoon - which she obviously hasn’t seen because the cartoon has always been in colour.
She said that the voice actors were all good, but it was the same story we’ve seen before so she didn’t see the point of making the movie again. She called it “bleh”, but it was ok for anyone under 8 years old. And then she spent a final paragraph explaining that nobody will ever do a better job at playing the Grinch than the fantastic Jim Carrey. It was the greatest role of his career!

It’s not something I ever need to watch again, but I’m glad others seem to like it. I hated the Jim Carrey version though. This one was fine to watch. Surprised to hear it made that much.
