So, probably out next fall/winter for awards season? Maybe starting at TIFF in September? When is Louis Wain expected out? I feel like they will give some breathing time between the 2, but with Power of the Dog and Dr. Strange scheduled for 2021, seems like 2020 would still be better for that Louis Wain.

I don't think there is a date for Louis Wain yet but it already has an American distributor in the USA, Amazon. It should be ready late this year, tho.
Ironbark'post-production was so long because the pause they did at the middle for the actors to lost weigh. The Power of the Dog could easily been ready for this year, too. But since day 1, Netflix scheduled for a 2021 release. At least two of the producers suggested it's because they want to try a spot at Cannes Film Festival. They hope things change by then between Netflix and the festival.

According to IMDB, both Ironbark and Louis Wain are coming out in 2020, and The Power of the Dog and the new Doctor Strange in 2021.

I'm sure I've missed this on other threads, but will LW have a theatrical release, or on Amazon Prime Video only?

That sucks.
Did Amazon ever released a movie in theaters?

I'm not sure but I think it hasn't been announced yet what Amazon would do with it. They have done award campaigns in the past for some of their films. They even had respected theatrical windows. That's why they never got in trouble like Netflix did. But last year, they practically withdrawn films of the race, The Aeronauts and The Report.

Yes, Manchester by the Sea, The Lost City of Z, Cold War, Suspira, Beutiful Boy are all Amazon movies. They tended to respect theatrical windows so they were just like other non-Netflix movies. The NYT published an article about how things changed last year, www.nytimes.com/2019/10/09/business/media/amazon-studios-movie-releases.htmlI hope they have a better plan for this year!

The early articles about Louis Wain say this:
It sounds like Amazon is releasing it for the U.S. only.
