Just when I think nothing can shock me any more, Entertainment Weekly gives The Grinch a B+ ! They’ve been ignoring him for ages and they haven’t mentioned The Grinch or included it in their Must Lists (and they chose Mary Poppins for this week’s cover), so I never expected a positive review from them. The magazine also had a little mention of The Grinch on their Bullseye page.

Not a review but a tweet by Kevin Smith promoting his friend’s movie:

I read one complainer on twitter who asked why they keep making movies based on books rather than coming up with something original. I can only guess that this was a very young and/or very stupid person who doesn’t know that books have existed long before movies - and most movies are based on books!
When I was young and wasn’t allowed to go see the movies everyone was talking about, I went to the library instead and took out the books the movies were based on. That way, I wouldn’t feel left out when the movie was mentioned. I was probably the only 12-year-old who read Jaws when the movie came out!

First of all, it’s Bob Cratchet, not Cracket. Secondly, who thinks like this? 😂

Owen Gleiberman talking about the movie and comparing it FAVORABLY to the awful Jim Carrey’s version:

I had no idea that Owen Gleiberman’s name was pronounced “Glyberman” - I’ve always pronounced it “Gleeberman” in my head.
I’ll be curious to see if those “did we really need another version of this movie” comments come up when the new Mary Poppins movie comes out.
