The Benedict was nominated for Best Actor in a Limited Series!
Unfortunately, the series itself was not nominated.

Well, last years Twin Peaks was only nominated to the Best Actor category, too. We won't have cinephiles screaming how unfair this is, tho. Just silly female fans! Anyway, it's a silly award but considering there is not even a DVD it needed it more than some of those much more inferior but I admit very accecible series. I doubt BC would win it. Imagine that! BC has never won a GG. The other two so called "posh" actors have: Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston but not BC (allegedly the more popular of the three). Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender hasn't won neither so I guess BC is part of the "rough" section of British/Irish hulks Wasn't a GG voter the one who said on Twitter that he would vote for ER instead of BC in 2014 because the first one behaved super nice to him at an event and BC was nice but slightly cold to him? Yes, he is too rough for them!

I should never have read Entertainment Weekly’s article about the nominations. I’m so angry! We’ve seen in the past few weeks that Patrick Melrose made it to just about every list of the year’s Top Ten - except for EW, who gave it an awful review. Now they have the nerve to say that the series had a “lackluster” reaction! How ridiculous! EW should be embarrassed that they snubbed a wonderful series that received praise from everyone else.
(I just went back to the article and left a comment. I feel better now!)

How did Bodyguard end up in the tv series category instead of limited series?

Was Madden nominated?
I remember the TIG award campaign was very crazy for him. He was filming The Hollow Crown in the UK at the same time and flying to L.A. during the weekends. I remember both he and Keira Knightly laughed aloud when a journalist "joked" about how Weinstein was putting pressure on them to being there. ER seemingly had a much more free time then! He was one of the few actors who went outside to talk with the tabloid press at the Hollywood Awards. BC and other ignored them.
Yesterday, Ryan Murphy printed his hands at the Hollywood Boulevard and the producers guild will give him an award for his career. All that speaks volumes about his prospects!
The thing I hate more about awards is that as everything is a competition there are think pieces or even random comments by award pundits and fans that just give a fake idea about what the series is about. When PM was nominated to the Emmys there were people saying PM was just the typical award-baity thing (compared to the ignore Twin Peaks) because it has BC as a star (a British actor from TIG and other Weisntein films fame) and now I have seen articles saying it main (and only) strength was BC's performance. And I guess this is confirmed by its only nomination. Most of them haven't even watched it and they don't have idea what the series is really about and inadvertently they are deter its potential audience.
I can't believe Ben Stiller series on Showtime did better! Maybe I'm wrong but I thought PM was much better received by critics! I haven't watched it so I'm not talking about quality just about the reviews I read.

I just saw that Madden was indeed nominated! mllemass I don't know but if that thing would have included as series we would probably wouldn't even have BC there! It's all about popularity... and presents, I guess!

Will Benedict go to the awards? He seems to be showing up to these kinds of events now that he’s also a producer.
It’s funny that he acts like awards are nice but they aren’t that important. But in that recent Today Show interview, the interviewer mistakenly said that he was a Golden Globe winner, and Benedict quickly corrected him. He started saying something about the Hollywood Foreign Press, but then he trailed off. He knew exactly what the Golden Globes were, who voted for them, and that he had never won one.

(I just went back to the article and left a comment. I feel better now!) Wow! That's a huge lie! I have seen comments that he was the stand out but saying it has lackluster reactions is insane! FT said it was one of the best British series ever, a new classic; The Guardian not just acclaimed it on the TV section but posted an article saying it was the most realistic and sincere portrait of an adict on screen written by an ex-adict; James L. Brooks posted that BC's performance was something he hasn't watched before! How are those reactions lackluster? Was it written by the Darren Criss' fangirl they have as critic (she was worried they would give the Emmy to another actor)? I thought she refused to watch the whole series even when everyone was saying to her that it was wonderful and not as bad as she said it was after her two episodes review! That's what she wrote on Twitter! Or probably it's just part of the award campaigns! Fabricating things to make their horse look better and more deserving!

I never watched anything from Ryan Murphy. I went to check on Imdb when the Emmys and I have to say that as producer (and writer probably) he's quite impreessive. One of the shows I tried to watch was American Horror Story. I only watched 1 episode of Versace but it was because of Penélope Cruz. I couldn't stand her.
