Wow, dude's on fire. I can't keep up with all these announcements. But I guess this is something that will happen a bit later cause the book hasn't even been published yet? But good for him and Sunny March for picking up those movie rights this early, it seems adaptations of Haig's novels are very much in style right now ("StudioCanal, which took a stake in SunnyMarch last year, is also adapting Haig's book series A Boy Called Christmas for the big screen, while the writer is adapting The Radleys for Alfonso Cuaron and BBC Films, and The Last Family in England for Taika Waititi and Plan B".) I know nothing at all about the story of this book, but I'm glad BC has a ton of projects lined up.

Variety describes it as a love story spanning centuries. Benedictory will play a man who looks 41 but has been alive for hundreds of years and doesn't age. Well, maybe we'll get a decent love story. I just hope it's nothing like that stupid Time-Traveler's Wife!

Here's a description from Amazon:
Sounds like it could be fun with scenes from all of those different times and places.

The story reminds me one one of my favourite films "Highlander." It wasn't the best film I've seen by a long shot but somehow I really liked it. I think it was the basic premise that intrigued me. So I'm looking forward to "How to Stop Time." 😊

This reads like the movie, The Age of Adaline, starring Blake Lively. Over on imdb I see the Child is Mine is without a year date now.

I thought in Orlando with Tilda Swinton. Although I doubt there would be a sex change in this! The author is very excited with the news on Twitter

This reads like the movie, The Age of Adaline, starring Blake Lively. Over on imdb I see the Child is Mine is without a year date now. Yes, Age of Adaline was what came to mind for me too. I quite liked the story, but the film itself not so much (I'm not a big fan of Blake Lively's acting in general and...I want to say another thing but it's a spoiler and the spoiler tag has vanished...?) although it was beautifully filmed. And I liked that they managed to explain the not-aging part through wonky science rather than just "magic". But this kind of a premise, although done many times over, can always offer something new. So I am definitely looking forward to it. So happy for Haig! It must be amazing for an author when the actor they imagined playing a role in their book actually does it in an adaptation! This made me curious, does anyone know of instances where this has happened? I am sure there are some (if I remember correctly JK Rowling imagined Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid, and he ended up playing him) but it would be nice to know which ones. Sorry OT.

I loved the Time Traveler's Wife! The book, though - movie was awful. But the book brings back memories of the summer my kitchen was being remodelled and I wanted to stay close by in case the workers needed anything, so I sat in the next room reading the book.
But I've read other books that sound a lot like How to Stop Time. Stephen King wrote at least one. And there have been two tv series that I've seen with a similar plot. Also, there are several time-travelling shows on tv right now, so it worries me a bit that this new book/movie won't interest people who are all time-travelled out.
I know that this one will be special because Benedict is in it, but I hope it's original in other ways, too.

I absolutely love time travel stories. Especially romantic time travel stories (my favourite is Somewhere in Time from the 80s).
I am thrilled to see that BC is continuing with his plan with Sunnymarch to do projects that promote British authors. Back in April of last year it was clear that Sunnymarch was planning a lot of movement in the not to distant future -
From Deadline (April 4/16): BC is really firing on all cylinders right now. 😍😍😍
:-))
