That it’s awful! The AMPTP statement made to look like they were offering a great contract but obviously they weren’t telling the whole story.
In general, SAG seems much more organized than WGA. Probably because they saw the errors committed by the writers. I also think they are smarter in the sense that they are centering on AI and the streaming residuals. Both worthy causes that are easily understood. I couldn’t believe that one of the important WGA demands was to force studies to hire no needed personal and how they attacked the famous scriptwriter who questioned it. I guess that proposal will be abandoned at the end.
Anyway, I saw an actor questioning the part about actors forbidden to go to cons. I guess it was specifically about San Diego Comic Con which it’s organized alongside studios but he is right that studios doesn’t benefit by most cons and that a lot of actors do. Actors who make more their money assisting to cons will be the ones hurt. Not studios.

British actors will be very popular in the next months, doesn't?
Of course, studios will abuse of this loophole. I just hope social media isn't so stupid to attack actors!
We probably will see a lot of Korean dramas and Spanish speaking series in streaming sites in the next months.

Also, Elon Musk is an idiot but I will say this again, "community notes" are the best Twitter feature ever,
They were forced to correct their stupid click-baity tweet! Lol
EDITED The cowards deleted the tweets but Deadline was "correcting" an out of context quote by Matt Damon that was suggesting that he wasn't happy as a Hollywood producer with the SAG strike. People added a "community note" clarifying that he said that even when he is affected as producer, he supports the strike because it's unbelievable that some working actors aren't eligible for things like health insurance and that he trust SAG leaders. Deadline then posted another tweet admitting it was an out of context quote but now they deleted both tweets! Lol

Hopefully this is true. It would be difficult to not talk about past jobs, tho.

This strike is way overdue. Truly. A lot of exploitative practices being uncovered now. The idea that they want to use actors as "digital assets" with a one-time payout is just sleazy. The music industry has been riddled with issues, lawsuits and drama as a result of the practice of buying up masters of artists, so you'd think that would be a lesson to all creative industries. Evidently not. edit typos

I have seen some animation workers saying that they have being affected by AI for ages but mostly ignored by the mainstream.
The other day a local TV show aired an audio of a popular singer apparently singing a cover by another artist. Then later they revealed it was just AI. It was creepy because it sounded just like him so yeah, it could fool you, but knowing that it was fake you just began to notice little things like the monotonous tone of the voice. It was not human.

Isn’t this AI stuff about owning an actor’s voice and likeness forever the plot of the new Black Mirror episode “Joan is Awful”? The actors there signed something without reading it when signing up for the streaming service Streamberry. Now, Streamberry uses their AI image and voice to create new content for their streaming service.
I wonder if the Black Mirror writers got the idea from what was really happening in the AI world, and then pushed the idea as far as it could go?

TBF we don't know what will happen. IMHO the human element will be impossible to copy. I mean remember how real AI images looked at the beginning but then later they become easily to detect. That was happened to me when I heard that AI song.It sounded exactly like the voice of that artist until it didn't. Something was off.
Anyway, it will provoke a lot of headaches and artists must undoubtedly protect themselves from it. I thought that famous people with famous faces would be the ones affected but obviously that's not the case! Of course, extras would be the ones disposable! Famous people aren't so vulnerable like extras.
