I hope Snakes v Iguana wins. It's an absolutely thrilling video!
Oh, and I hope Benedict and The Hollow Crown win, too.

BC has come a long way in his career since Parades End. He's shed a lot of the internet boyfriend label (thank god) so maybe he'll be taken more seriously this time around. It's been, what? Three years since his last nomination? I think his last nomination was in 2015. It was, en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_British_Academy_Television_AwardsHe didn't have anything qualified last year so even when he had never win they have always consider him. Except when they ignore him for Parade's End which was an infamy! 😉

Sgev. I totally agree with you on Parade's End. His performance in that was superb. His Richard III was brilliant to but I just have a feeling Robbie Coltrane will pip him to the post because BAFTA tend to go for that sort of programme & performance.

Yes, I think in general they tend to like the sordid and painful thing at least in the performances categories. That's why I think he hypothetically has more chances with his next roles in Melrose and The Child in Time.
The Guardian speculated something similar respect the not inclusion of The Night Manager. They said Hugh Laurie is said to be the worst criminal ever but he isn't actually that bad compared to other characters nominated, including BC's psychopath Richard III. Ironically another article said The Night Manager was ignored because BAFTAS prefers period sumptuous series which TNM actually is but apparently The Crown is much more!

I'm not surprised he's not attending. He's probably fed up doing his "gracious loser" face at the BAFTA's and I suspect he would have had to do it again this year. This year's BAFTA for best actor has Robbie Colrane's name on it. Not because he was better than BC but because "National Treasure" is the sort of production the BAFTA judges love
Not to take anything away from RC's performance, which was terrific, but I think that this year BC really deserves to win. His Richard III was sublime.

I am not surprised, either. It's a pity we won't see him on the red carpet, but truth to be told, I did expect it. But he really really should get more appreciation for his Richard. It was a terrific performance.

News! Now it seems he's going. Haha we'll see. Confirmed atendees by BaftaNow the bets on twitter is he's going to win. Haha I think that if he isn't filming (with everything well family wise) he should go because it will be good for his producer side.

Well, with Sunday being Mother's Day here, I need to know for certain whether he'll be there. If he's going to the Baftas, I'll have to rush my parents out of my house after lunch so I can watch it. But if he's not going to the awards, we'll be able to relax over coffee and cake. I'm such a good daughter!
