But that article is pretty positive about BC's performance: He is just predicting he wouldn't win because some people don't enjoy Shakespeare but that it's a big praise.

I agree, I quoted that myself but I guess that the members of the jury are actors, producers, industry people. It isn't a popular vote. They surely enjoy Shakespeare.

National Treasure won over The Hollow Crown. Happy Valley over The Crown.

Apparently... he didn't win but it's not a surprise. BAFTA is going for hyper realistic dramas nowadays. Maybe with his two next projects.
The winner was Adeel Akhtar.

The "favorite", The Crown lost in all categories! I think that shows the politics behind BAFTAS. I'm not saying the winners didn't deserved their awards, of course. But all awards are just opinions and clearly the judges don't go nowadays for the popular things. At least BC was nominated. That wasn't the case with The Night Manager! Believe it or not, he clearly is more respected than other popular British white actors. But I suspect that a few years ago, a talented "posh" actor as BC would have a few BAFTA awards with his name at this stage (you know when more diverse actors were sadly ignored). Time will put things in place and I'm sure he eventually will be recognized but award politics are always intriguing.

I agree, Magda! I'm trying to stay positive, tho, even if I am bummed out. Here's the good stuff:
We got a very nice red carpet with a couple really fabulous shots, including the new nape/back/bum/thighs shot. 😍 He seemed to be in very good spirits, although really tired. I'm wondering if one of the boys is sick? It was a good opportunity to do some networking. He seemed very happy for the winner. He's been nominated a lot for a BAFTA, so his superior level of craft is being acknowledged. He'll get one. Someday.
