Don't forget: lectures people about immigrants while not taking in any himself, too posh and criticized Downton Abbey, and takes roles meant for actors of color.

Also, they had to cut the gay scenes out of TIG because he refused to do a gay love scene. And he took a transgender role in Zoolander 2 that should have gone to a transgender actor.

I had forgotten how evil and problematic he is! I'm going to stop liking him immediately. Well, maybe after I watch Dr. Strange for the 115th time. 😜

I never once said he was evil or problematic and I don't think that.

I was joking! That's why there was a jokey face after my post. Sheesh.

I somewhat agree that we should seperate the art from the artist, like Roman Polanski for example, just the other day I watched one of his old movie (one with child rape undertone no less, ick. But damn he's good), but I really really hope that BC would never work with him. Same goes with Woody Allen who might technically didn't do anything unlawful, but still - ick, yuck, blaaargh.

I have to admit that I love a good number of both Polanski and Allen movies. Polanski definitely should be in jail. Allen case is much more complex and ambiguous but it's a shame that there are not justice there and that probably it would never be clear what really happened.
It seems BC is one of the very few actors who hasn't worked for Allen. No doubt he would be hardly criticized if he accepted as a lot of important celebrities are. Actually at the time some people claimed the criticism against Cate Blanchet (the first one to be mentioned along with other actresses) was a Weinstein dirty campaign in favor of Judi Dench! Especially because Mia Farrow accepted to participate in an Allen homage video and then later she hardly criticized people who accepts to work with him. I don't know if Hollywood is THAT cynic but it seems too much...even for good old Harvey!!!

Agnes Varda will receive a honorary Oscar: I don't know why they don't include these awards in the main event anymore. It used to be my favorite part of the ceremonies. I guess they decided that old stars weren't interesing for young audiences. Now the whole ceremonies are boring!

I agree with both of you. I liked Polanski and Allen's old movies but I stopped watching them after I knew about what they did. In the case of Woogy Allen I obviously can't be sure if he is or not guilty of molesting his daughter but he married his wife adopted daughter and it is very probable he was dating her when she was still underaged and he was more than 50. Creepy as fu*k. Other one I can't watch now is Chaplin. Btw I just watched Mother! trailer on the tiff channel and it looks like a Rosemary's Baby remake.

It's very clear/confirmed that Allen felt attraction for young women/almost teenagers and that it's indeed very creepy! You can see that not just in his bio but also in his movies.
Why Chaplin? What he did?
Hitchcock was also a creep but I love his movies too much.
