The talented people who give us the special effects on Sherlock are still winning well-deserved awards!

I'm so pleased by the SAG nomination! With so many actors out there, it's wonderful that Benedict's performance is among the few to be acknowledged. Whether or not he wins, his name/photo/video will be included in all the awards discussions and at the award ceremony itself. Yay!

I am pleased also with the SAG nom for him.
First off, the recognition is well deserved for him personally.
Secondly, despite slagging from some quarters I feel recognition for this season is also well deserved and since Sherlock is the vehicle which carried his performance it is also part and parcel of this individual recognition for him as an actor.
Thirdly, even if he doesn’t win, the nomination is worthy of note because of the positive effect it has on publicity for him (so even if you don’t truck with awards and all that, such events do generate name recognition and publicity for shows and the actors in them, and lead to more opportunities for the people involved) so they do have value.
Anyway, I loved Season 4 and I loved BC’s performance in it so I am very, very pleased with his nomination for a SAG.
:-))
PS: the only performance I haven’t seen of the nominated actors is Jeff Daniels in “Godless”... I’ll have to see if I can catch it on Kodi. So far, though, BC’s only real competition from the ones I have seen is RDN in “Wizard of Lies”. He was very good but not even close to BC’s performance in Sherlock IMO.

Wow, that's great that he got a SAG nod! I haven't been paying attention to awards season this year at all, so I definitely got a surprise! Did Sherlock get other SAG or Golden Globe nods? I could Google of course lol but I'm on my phone and it's really slow (goddamnit Huawei, this is only 8 months old! A fetus still, basically, it shouldn't already be sucky. 😡)

Just this one and the Emmy nomination for him and not nomination for the series.
I posted here somewhere that he wasn't nominated to the GG but it's not a surprise because they just have nominated him once for Sherlock.
The episode was nominated for a Critics Choice award but not him.

Very happy for BC..
This is a good nomination. The GG are a joke.

Awards are just awards but agreed that it's better to be nominated for a SAG award than a GG. The last ones are maybe more popular but the SAGs are actually voted by people inside the industry. It means your colleagues respects you. GG means a small group of foreign waiters really want to guess your possible future Oscar nomination and being applauded for the prediction! 😉
