I’m reading about Kiri and it was also criticized by experts! I’m not saying that means it’s bad or shouldn’t receive awards (the reviews are very positive but it doesn’t seem it had the level of acclaim that Patrick Melrose had) but it’s ironic how awards worried by real life issues go for the irresponsible ones! www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-42645902 I seriously think they are pandering for serious issues but they just ignore something like Patrick Melrose which was considered a very faithful portrait of both addiction and child sexual abuse consequences by experts because, I think, it seems to them that he isn’t the right kind of victim. Again I don’t care too much if they are a little irresponsible on their portrait of something (although it SURELY should be openly criticized and discussed) when there is quality but again Patrick Melrose was better received that at least those two series! The Cry doesn’t even seem to be progressive or inclusive (Is it because the main character is a woman? Maybe!) and it actually received a few bad reviews by a few prominent British TV critics. Just wow!

They gave him this award last year - for Outstanding Achievement. That’s when he wore that cap on his head because his hair had been shaved off all weird for Brexit. I remember that he said his hair was a horror show under the cap, and that his mother wouldn’t like him wearing it. Ha!

Has anyone heard how the Sky arts awards went? It’s being televised on the 10th, but the ceremony took place tonight.
