I guess now we wait for the Emmys to announce which (if any) of the submissions will become nominations.
I'm still upset that The Hollow Crown isn't eligible!

Me too Mllemass! I don't think I will ever get over that boo boo! It will be mitigated somewhat if THC and BC win a BAFTA though.
I think TLD could have a good chance at winning something. It was a very strong episode IMO. Personally I liked TFP just as much (maybe even better) but it was one that was more of a episodic story rather than a wrap-up one so it might play better to any votes.

My guess is they won't win and BC won't even come to the ceremony. But well yes, a girl can dream and I really, really, want BC to win something for THC is was one of his best roles ever, IMO.

How...not surprising that they went with TLD. I wished they would pick TFP so that Gatiss might finally get a writing credit to his name at the Emmys but I knew they wouldn't.

The only episode written by Gatiss I really liked was TGG.
But I think he deserved being nominated as supporting actor for TFP.
A pity Sian Brooke's three characters were all in different episodes.

Well I did say "if" The Hollow Crown wins, not that I believed it would.
I hope it wins, because, like you I think it was his best work yet and deserves some industry wide recognition.

For good or bad, Steve Moffat is for much the best writer in Sherlock.

I agree that Moffat is the best writer in Sherlock. But they could have gone with TFP which was co-written by him and Gatiss, same with The Sign of Three in series 3. The Emmys don't care what they send, they just nominate the same stuff every time so long as it has "Sherlock" attached to it it's fine haha.
But mostly this is the Emmys fault. I hate the way Sherlock is supposedly a "TV movie." Hope BC and MF get nods and why not Toby Jones too - although I'd much rather have seen supporting nominations go to Gatiss and Brooke (she was so good) because in the end they had more important characters and MG as Mycroft has been in the show since the beginning, but no such luck.

I think they chose perfectly. TLD was, imo, one of the best eps of Sherlock ever. That acting was sublime, all the way around. The writing, pacing, tension, production values were all amazing. Ben was amazing. Fluffy clouds are amazing, lol. It had low comedy and high tension. It was *perfect.* 😍
